Scott Shannon Makes NAB's Hall of Fame

Air talent Scott Shannon will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the Radio Luncheon during NAB2003 in Las Vegas, April 8. Shannon is PD and air talent for WPLJ(FM), New York.
The son of a career army soldier, he spent his youth moving from one town to another, soaking up the local radio scenes. His first job, at age 17, was in Mobile, Ala. Then it was on to Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Washington and Tampa – where he created the “Morning Zoo” format.
From there, it was on to WHTZ(FM), New York, out to Los Angeles for KQLZ(FM)
“Pirate Radio” and back to NY – where he joined WPLJ in 1991.
NAB2003 takes place April 5 – 10 in Las Vegas (exhibits open April 7).
