Security Council Checks in Next Week

The security of media infrastructure is on the agenda for next Thursday, Nov. 6, in Washington.
That’s when ideas will be presented to the broadcast, cable and satellite industries at the next meeting of the Media Security and Reliability Council. It takes place at the FCC.
The advisory committee reports to FCC Chairman Michael Powell, who formed it after Sept. 11, 2001 “in order to study, develop and report on best practices designed to assure the optimal reliability, robustness and security of the broadcast and multichannel video programming distribution industries.”
Real Audio and streaming video access will be available at www.fcc.gov.
