An agreement between InsideJazz.com and SelectRadio will bring four channels of music performances and concerts to users of Windows Mobile phones and wireless handhelds.
The content from InsideJazz.com is recorded at music venues in Southern California; founder Tim Pinch owns an archive of content recorded live. Users of the most recent SelectRadio software can get the music selections in 32 kbps and 128 kbps “CD-quality” streams, the companies said.
SelectRadio software uses the wireless network connection to provide access to a screen of content selections. Other choices include satellite, Internet, terrestrial and podcast content.
The software works with a number of handheld phone models and PDAs. It needs a network connection via the handheld wireless GPRS/EDGE, EVDO or WiFi connection or through the USB ActiveSync desktop connection. The user pays $25 for a device license.
