Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John McCain, R-Ariz., has heard the nine Democrats on the committee and has slated another hearing on media ownership for Thursday (May 22).
Earlier, several Democratic members of Congress urged McCain to have all five FCC commissioners testify at such a hearing before the agency votes June 2 on the media ownership rules.
No witness list has been released, although an announcement by the committee said it would specifically seek testimony on the television broadcast ownership rules and competition in the video programming and distribution markets.
