The Senate Appropriations Committee has approved funding for public broadcasting that is $111 million more than what was earlier approved by the full House.
According to the Association for Public Television Stations, the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies proposed providing $400 million in advance funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for its fiscal 2008 budget.
The matter now goes to the Senate floor; then a House-Senate conference committee will resolve differences.
