Senate leaders were near agreement on a deal to speed confirmation of several of the President’s judicial nominees in exchange for placing an aide to Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., on the FCC. According to The Washington Post, lawmakers hoped to reach agreement for voting on both judicial and executive nominations before the Senate begins its July 4th holiday recess. The FCC nominee in question is Daschle aide Jonathan Adelstein.
