Digging That Audio History

See pioneering audio amplifiers at AES Show

For those in New York later this week at the AES Show (or if you can sneak in from the concurrent NAB New York show), the Audio History Library & Museum is bringing in some of its prized holdings.

Featured at Booth 946 will be, according to the AHL, “first audio amplifier by Western-Electric,” c. 1900, and a” Von Lieben tube power amplifier produced in Berlin in 1912.” The latter product was used for telephone networks and was manufactured by Telefunken.

In addition will be other old audio items from the formative years of the broadcasting and recording industries.
