The National Association of Broadcasters said 83,842 people registered for this year’s spring show; of that figure, 23,232 were international attendees and 1,246 were news media registrants.
While the nearly 84,000 is down from last year’s 104,000, considering the poor economy, NAB officials were happy: Spokesman Dennis Wharton called the spring event “a phenomenal success by any measure in an otherwise challenging economy,” saying the association appreciates the support of both exhibitors and attendees.
Research has shown that exhibitors generate more than $50 billion in sales as a direct result of the NAB Show each year, according to the association.
