With the 2026 NAB Show approaching, we’re providing a series of previews asking exhibitors about their plans and expectations.
Christopher Spahr is vice president of sales & marketing at DPA Microphones.
Radio World: What is DPA and what is its core business?
Christopher Spahr: DPA Microphones is a leading manufacturer with more than six decades of experience in designing technologically innovative condenser microphones and digital wireless systems that deliver pure, uncolored and undistorted sound; exceptional consistency and clarity; and outstanding durability and reliability.
Our core business is serving professionals within the broadcast, film, live sound, theatre, recording, worship and integration markets.
RW: What business or technology trends will you be watching for at the convention?
Spahr: I will be monitoring the continuation of more content acquisition tools that use transport over IP and/or fiber optics. I’m also interested to see the continued development of wireless mic technology with spectral efficiency and frequency range expansions.
RW: What products or themes will DPA highlight?
Spahr: We will be highlighting our recently released N-Series Digital Wireless Microphone System and its expansion into additional frequency ranges within the U.S. We are also focusing on the addition of our CORE+ technology into the 4097 Micro Shotgun Microphone.
RW: What is the most notable current or recent trend in how microphones are used in media applications?
Spahr: Seeing the decrease in professional audio products and technicians needed for a broadcast and the proliferation of “prosumer” level audio equipment throughout the content production industry.
RW: What else should we know?
Spahr: We will be co-exhibiting with our sister companies Wisycom and Austrian Audio, and will have products from all three brands at the booth.
