Prophet’s NewsBuilder Changing the News

The recently updated NewsBuilder version 1.6 contains new features, including increased compatibility with NexGen to ease the transfer of packets to and from.

The face of news has dramatically changed, even in the past ten years. Competition has increased among the 24-hour cable channels, news-talk radio stations, Internet news magazines and bloggers fighting for first billing. One product being used by news professionals and offered on the exhibit floor is NewsBuilder, an all-in-one newsroom production package from Prophet Systems.

According to a recent press release Prophet Systems’ Steve Schneider said multi-tasking is one big advantage of NewsBuilder.

“You can customize it to do whatever you want it to do,” he said. “For example, you can create your own hot keys, and set up your own layouts.”

R.C. Bauer, news director and orning news anchor at Cleveland’s NewsRadio 1100 WTAM, has had a good experience with NewsBuilder. His editor teased a story at 7:15 one morning that wasn’t written in for 7:30.

“All he had to do was tell me on our intercom,” said Bauer. “I went back to a story we had used at 5:30 a.m….and switched back and forth between the 5:30 and 7:30 newscasts seamlessly. My 7:30 rocked because of NewsBuilder!”

The recently updated NewsBuilder version 1.6 contains new features, including increased compatibility with NexGen to ease the transfer of packets to and from. Also, users can make changes without manual editing and send files with end dates to help automated stations sound live and current.
