Netherlands-based console maker D&R Electronica recently announced the sale of an Axum system to Showbizz, a Dutch remote event broadcaster.
Part of a mobile radio broadcast studio, the modular Axum is an Ethernet-based digital networking system. It includes the standard control and processing bundles, motorized faders, remote control features. Customization options added included a motorized desk that lifts the control surface for use when the DJ stands.
Showbizz has already put the system to use in the field with Optimaal FM at the Zwarte Cross music festival/motocross/tractor pull.
Dutch dealer Niehoff handled the transaction. Niehoff also handled the recent acquisition of a 12-fader Axum system by RTV Purmerend, a Dutch radio and TV broadcaster. That system is for the main radio studio while a second Axum system is planned for the TV side.
