Simmons Uses Harris SynchroCast in Salt Lake

Harris said Simmons Media Group in Salt Lake City is using its Intraplex SynchroCast digital multiplexers to interconnect three of its stations.
“The station group recently added SynchroCast to three stations (KEGA-FM, KJQN-FM, and KFMS-FM) and has achieved dramatic gains in signal coverage, improved business operations, as well as phone and IP service to remote transmitter sites,” the supplier stated.
The system interconnects the three stations with the group’s Salt Lake City headquarters; it also uses seven frequency boosters per station to cover shadow areas in the mountainous terrain.
Scot Mathews is director of engineering for Simmons Media in Salt Lake City.
