Sirius Satellite Radio launched its second satellite Monday from Kazakhstan. The bird’s solar panels were deployed around noon Eastern. Lift-off occurred just before 6 a.m. In-orbit testing is expected to be completed within 45 days.
Sirius’ 3rd satellite was previously scheduled to launch in October. That may move to November due to the high number of Proton rocket launches occurring in October.
