Sirius Leader Steps Aside; Launch Delayed

Sirius Satellite Radio officials say the exit of CEO David Margolese was planned for a while, although most observers who spoke to RW Online expressed skepticism at that.
Meanwhile, Sirius’ program launch, which had been slated for year-end, is delayed, reportedly due to late receiver chipsets from Agere. Updated launch details are expected to be made public next month.
Margolese, one of the founders of the former CD Radio, stepped down this week and two Sirius executives, SVP/CFO John Scelfo and SVP/General Counsel Patrick Donnelly assume his duties on an interim basis while the company searches for a new CEO. Margolese remains as a non-executive chairman of the board.
