Sirius Satellite Radio has surpassed three million subscribers, as it hoped. It reported 826,000 new subscribers joined the satellite radio service during the fourth quarter of this year.
Bridge Ratings cites Howard Stern as the reason many of the new subscribers purchased the service.
In interviews with customers at CE retailers, Stern was responsible for 22% of the sign-ups during the first week of the quarter in October. This number increased steadily throughout the period, to 58 % by mid-December.
