Sirius Q2 Loss Grows

For the second quarter of 2004, Sirius recognized total revenue of $13.2 million, compared to $2.1 million for the second quarter of last year.
But its loss from operations in Q2 was $133 million for the second quarter of 2004, compared to a loss from operations of $109.8 million for the same period last year.
Sirius reported a net loss applicable to common stockholders of $136.8 million, or 11 cents per share, for the second quarter of 2004, compared with a net loss applicable to common stockholders of $111.8 million, or $12 cents per share, for the second quarter of 2003.
For Q2, the average monthly revenue per subscriber, or ARPU, was $10.54. Excluding the effects of mail-in rebate programs, ARPU for the second quarter of 2004 was $10.90.
Sirius ended the quarter with $640 million in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities.
Cash flow from operating activities for the quarter was $64.8 million compared to cash flow from operating activities of $64.6 million for the second quarter of 2003.
