Sirius has crossed the 100,000 subscriber mark. At the close of business on June 20, the satcaster had 100,233 subscribers on its nationwide service.
Sirius President/CEO Joe Clayton said the milestone “underscores the growing interest in our service.”
New Sirius Plug & Play products are being introduced at the retail level. The Kenwood “Here2Anywhere” has begun shipping to consumer electronics stores, and the “S.R.S. Satellite Radio Shuttle” from Audiovox is to begin arriving in early July.
“We reached our subscriber milestone without the benefit of these new products in the marketplace,” said Sirius President/CEO Joe Clayton. “With the introduction of the Plug & Play units this summer, home products this fall and the rollout of the balance of our OEM automotive programs this year with Ford, Mercedes, Audi and Infiniti, we believe that momentum will continue to build.”
The Kenwood Here2Anywhere retails at $99.95, plus approximately $69.95 for either the car or home adapter kits. The Audiovox S.R.S. Satellite Radio Shuttle will be similarly priced.
