Sirius subscriptions reached 105,186, in the second quarter of the year, a 55% rise, according to the satcaster.
"This continued growth in Sirius subscribers confirms that we are getting traction in the marketplace, and that our commercial-free music programming is gaining a wider audience," said Sirius President/CEO Joe Clayton. "We were able to reach our subscriber target even without the benefit of the new transportable products," said Clayton, referring to the so-called "plug & play" receivers from Kenwood and Audiovox.
XM had close to 700,000 subscribers as of July.
