Sirius Switches Ad Reps

Sirius Satellite Radio is switching ad firms, going from McCann-Erickson to Crispin Porter + Bogusky, creators of the ‘truth’ anti-tobacco campaigns. The firm is also known for its work on the U.S. launch of the BMW Mini line of automobiles. Crispin Porter +
Bogusky’s other clients include IKEA, Molson and Bacardi.
Why the switch? “Sirius is launching a new product, a new business and a new product
category, and therefore we were looking for a new approach to catapult our brand into the minds of today’s consumers,” said Mary Pat Ryan, Sirius Executive Vice President of Marketing.
“The category of satellite radio has been out there for about a year now and we believe that it will take a very different approach in order to be successful, said Ryan. “We now have the insights that will help change consumer behavior, make our marketing dollars work harder and drive consumers to purchase Sirius.”
