Sirius XM is getting into the Carmageddon game.

The satellite company plans special programming aimed at Los Angeles-area drivers during a large-scale closure of Interstate 405 next weekend.

“Carmageddon Radio” will broadcast from Friday, July 15 at 10 p.m. Pacific through Monday, July 18 at 5 a.m. on its Los Angeles Traffic and Weather Channel 140.

Authorities expect a 53-hour, 10-mile closure of I-405 between U.S.101 and I-10 that weekend.

PS -- One wonders what the marketing value of the catchy Carmageddon moniker is for makers of the unrelated video game.
