Sirius XM Plans for ‘Carmageddon’

Its L.A. traffic and weather channel will carry special programming

Sirius XM is getting into the Carmageddon game.

The satellite company plans special programming aimed at Los Angeles-area drivers during a large-scale closure of Interstate 405 next weekend.

“Carmageddon Radio” will broadcast from Friday, July 15 at 10 p.m. Pacific through Monday, July 18 at 5 a.m. on its Los Angeles Traffic and Weather Channel 140.

Authorities expect a 53-hour, 10-mile closure of I-405 between U.S.101 and I-10 that weekend.

PS — One wonders what the marketing value of the catchy Carmageddon moniker is for makers of the unrelated video game.
