SiriusXM Adds MLB Offerings

Satcaster takes on streaming for mobile devices and online for subscribers

Satellite radio broadcaster SiriusXM announced a multiyear deal with Major League Baseball’s Internet and interactive media arm to add services for its satellite subscribers.

According to a release, SiriusXM subscribers immediately will be able to stream online or on mobile device MLB games. That list includes this year’s games, the All-Star game and all post-season games. Spring training games will be available next year. Some Spanish-language productions will also be available.

The new offerings are on top of SiriusXM’s slate of satellite-delivered games.

SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein, “Throughout the sport’s history, fans have connected with America’s pastime through radio calls. With those broadcasts now available on SiriusXM Internet Radio, coupled with the satellite radio broadcasts on XM, SiriusXM subscribers [can] follow any MLB team from their cars, homes or anywhere.”
