SiriusXM Gets Serious for Valentine’s Day

Crooners DJ on some channels while Romance Radio lays it on

Satellite radio broadcaster wants everyone to know that it is serious about Valentine’s Day. It is planning “exclusive programming in celebration of the Valentine’s Day weekend—including pop-up channels, listener requests, special guest DJs, love songs and not-so-romantic stories.” All starting Friday morning at the crack of dawn.

Leading the way will be Romance Radio, a special pop-up channel of limited duration. Romance Radio will feature romantic favorites of select SiriusXM hosts, introduced by them as well. In addition, there’ll be poetry readings, jokes, favorite romantic movie picks and more.

Singer/songwriter Michael Bolton is scheduled to take over the SiriusXM Love channel, playing his favorite love songs (not all of them by him) and sharing stories.

Several other SiriusXM channels will join in at times, offering romantic hits, mood music and more. Of note is singer David Bisbal sitting in as DJ on the Latidos Channel. He’ll play some of his favorite love songs.
