SiriusXM Launches Online On-Demand Service

Gives subscribers access to exclusive content

Sirius XM Radio is enabling subscribers to personalize their online version of the service with the launch of SiriusXM On-Demand.

With the new capability, subscribers listening via the company’s online media player and on Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, can choose what to listen to from a catalog of more than 200 shows and 2,000 hours of content.

SiriusXM Internet Radio subscribers listening on Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch will also be able to store select on-demand shows for a period of time on their devices and listen to content when not connected to the Internet. This allows offline listening while traveling on planes, for example, or elsewhere without a wireless connection.

With SiriusXM On-Demand, the satellite radio company is making selections from its audio archives accessible to listeners for no extra charge. The satcaster says the online offerings will be updated daily and the available catalog will be expanded regularly.

On-demand music programming will have no commercials while certain shows will have few commercials, according to the satcaster.
