The two companies developing satellite-delivered digital audio broadcasting services, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio, have signed more marketing agreements with several consumer electronic retail chains.
The latest to agree to sign up customers and sell receivers for Sirius are Circuit City and Best Buy, as well as regional retailers Good Guys, Sound Advice, Al & Ed’s Autosound and CarToys and Tweeter.
The consumer electronic catalog retailer Crutchfield has also agreed to sell Sirius receivers.
XM has reached a similar pact with Tweeter and a “preliminary” agreement with Circuit City. It inked a deal with Best Buy last week.
Sirius plans to begin its service in the 4th quarter of this year, with XM following in the first quarter of 2001.
