Slacker Names AOL GM as SVP of Strategic Partnership Operations

Namerow began career in FM before digital transition

Internet music service Slacker has named Lisa Namerow senior vice president of strategic partnership operations. With a background in the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive consumer usage of Web and mobile products, she will lead partnership operations with a focus on broadening existing and future partnerships, a release said.

Namerow joins the Slacker team from AOL, where she was the general manager of the AOL Music Network and AOL Radio, where she led day-to-day business operations, product and audience development and strategic partnerships for five music websites in addition to AOL Radio. She spearheaded partnerships, including those with Vevo, CBS Radio, Rolling Stone and Slacker and also oversaw the launch of the AOL Radio iPhone app.

Namerow began her career as an overnight DJ for WICB(FM) in Ithaca, N.Y. She went on to hold positions with Saga Communications.

“I’ve spent my career at the intersection of music and technology, developing entertainment products for a mass audience and leveraging strategic partnerships that enhanced those experiences,” said Namerow “Slacker delivers a seamless experience across the Web, mobile devices, consumer electronics devices and cars — and I’m focused on maximizing the impact of Slacker’s current partnerships and identifying new music partnerships …”

Slacker was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in San Diego, Calif.
