Small Webcasters Feel Squeezed by RIAA

The trade group Webcaster Alliance, Inc. is concerned about what it says is anticompetitive conduct by the trade group for the recording industry in the market for Internet radio. The Internet group told the Recording Industry Association of America it would begin legal proceedings “unless the RIAA takes concrete steps to address anticompetitive conditions in the market that threaten to eliminate small commercial Webcasters.” The group alleges RIAA has made deals with larger Webcasters that would squeeze out smaller Web groups.
