Large markets will be the first surveyed with The Smart Cell Phone, according to The Media Audit, which is vying for radio's electronic-ratings business. That is, assuming the selection group chooses The Media Audit/Ipsos' system over the Arbitron Portable People Meter.
Houston technical and market tests are underway; they are the lead-in to full market tests, stated TMA President Bob Jordan.
"With broadcaster support, we will start recruiting sample for the full market test in the fall with results expected sometime this winter. If The Media Audit/Ipsos is selected as the electronic radio ratings service, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago will be the first three markets to be surveyed after the completion of the full market test in Houston."
