Carl Girod, SMPTE’s director of engineering, recently announced his retirement from the standards organization.
Girod, who has been with SMPTE for 11 years, said that he would be working with headquarters during the transitional period.
During his career with the organization, Girod oversaw several innovations to the SMPTE engineering department and contributed to motion imaging industry standards development.
