Two more prominent public stations will add their audio to iHeartRadio, as Clear Channel continues to grow that platform using content from other broadcasters including both commercial and public outlets.
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment — formerly Clear Channel Radio — announced that L.A. stations KCRW(FM) and KUSC(FM) will stream on iHeartRadio next month. The announcement was made by Brian Lakamp, president of Clear Channel Digital; Jennifer Ferro, general manager, KCRW; and Brenda Barnes, president of Classical KUSC.
Other notable streaming partners on iHeartRadio include Greater Media, announced earlier this month; 570-station Cumulus; Spanish-content provider Univision Radio; Christian broadcaster Educational Media Foundation; and New York public station WNYC.
KCRW(FM) is licensed to Santa Monica College. Its terrestrial signal serves Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties, as well as parts of San Diego, San Bernardino, Kern and Santa Barbara counties and greater Palm Springs. KUSC(FM) is licensed to the University of Southern California and is heard at 91.5 MHz in Los Angeles and Santa Clarita, with other frequencies in Palm Springs, Thousand Oaks, Santa Barbara and Morro Bay/San Luis Obispo.
