The board of directors of the Society of Broadcast Engineers approved an ambitious plan to increase the organization’s educational programs by 2012.
The goal is to triple current efforts over the next three years. Additionally a full-time education director will be added to the headquarters staff. Expansion will be among, course, seminars, webinars and online education. A special push will be for the SBE University program of technical courses started this year.
SBE President Barry Thomas said: “SBE has always been about education since its founding in 1964. Our members and the industry have told us that they need more opportunities for continuing education to keep up with changing technology. We are very pleased to announce this expansion today that we feel will provide our members with educational resources they will need in the years to come.”
