Some Broadcast Filing Deadlines Eased Due to CDBS Problems

Because of computer problems, the FCC is extending a deadline for station license renewal, EEO and ownership reports in certain states. A one-week extension – to Dec. 8 – has been granted for filing of license renewals for Georgia and Alabama and EEO reports for those states (Forms 303-S and 396, respectively.)
The extension also applies to biennial ownership reports (Form 323/323E) for pubcasters and commercial broadcasters for the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Vermont.
The FCC stated that some users of the Consolidated Database System have experienced trouble when trying to file documents electronically following a planned system upgrade. The commission says its system has also experienced several outages in the past several weeks. With the extension, the agency hopes to give those impacted by the CDBS outages more time to file their documents.
