Start Prepping Broadcast Ownership Reports

Window opens Oct. 1 to file FCC Form 323

The FCC’s Media Bureau plans to open a window on Oct. 1 for broadcasters to file 2013 biennial ownership reports.

All commercial AM, FM, TV, LPTV, and Class A stations, as well as anyone with an attributable

interest in the stations, are required to file a Form 323 on or before Dec. 2. That’s 30 extra days over the original deadline, according to the agency.

Filings must include information reflecting ownership interests existing as of Oct. 1. The commission has created a special web page for stations that includes a list of the most common errors made in filing Form 323 reports.

The form must be filed using the FCC’s online database. Paper submissions will not be accepted.
