Station Sales Hot In Arkansas

Station sales in Florida, Mississippi and Minnesota are in the works

New station and translator sales have recently come across the Radio World news desk.

Arkansas seems to be the locus of recent activity with four stations about to change hands. El Dorado Broadcasting Co. is selling KDMS(FM) and KLBQ(AM), both serving the El Dorado, Ark., market, to Noalmark Broadcasting Corp. for a purchase price of $600,000. Media Services Group is serving as the broker.

In the Helena, Ark., market, Monte Spearman’s High Plains Radio Network will acquire KFFA(AM) and KFFA(FM) from Delta Broadcasting for $475,000. Then across the border in the Greenville, Mississippi market, Spearman’s High Plains Radio Network will buy WDMS(FM), WGVM(AM) and W247BA(FM) for $500,000 from ArkLaMs. The broker on both of those deals was also Media Services Group.

In Florida’s Ft. Walton Beach-Destin market, New York-based radio holding group Community Broadcasters is buying WZLB(FM), Valparaiso, WWAV(FM), Santa Rosa Beach, WECQ(FM), Destin and WHWY(FM), Holt for an undisclosed price from Apex Media Corp., a South Carolina media company. Kalil & Co. and MVP Capital are the brokers on this deal.

In Deer River, Minn., Red Rock Radio Corp. is selling KBAJ(FM) to Lamke Broadcasting for an undisclosed fee. The seller owns 20 radio stations in Minnesota, 16 of which are currently under file at the FCC to be assigned. Kalil & Co. is the broker on this sale.

As always, no sale is final until the transfer of license is approved by the FCC. Send your station transaction news to Radio World.
