Howard Stern is said to be talking to investors about starting his own radio business, The New York Post reports. The paper cites sources as saying the host wants backing to start a pay-radio channel to broadcast his syndicated show.
“Stern envisions purchasing spectrum from a satellite company and then airing his show to listeners who would pay a fee of $1 per month,” sources told the paper.
He reportedly has two years left on his contract with Infinity. Company co-COO and President Mel Karmazin recently told the Wall Street Journal if Stern’s contract were up now he would re-sign him.
