Overall streaming increased by just over 30% from 2013 to 2014, with a jump in “Average Active Sessions,” according to Triton Digital’s latest figures.
The 30% refers to the Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–8 p.m. daypart from the first to fourth quarter of 2014.
Mobile listening was also higher in the U.S., with AAS up by 47.5% (M–F 6 a.m.–8 p.m.) year-over-year. During the same period, desktop listening declined by 4.2%.
Interestingly, pureplay streams saw a 49.5% increase, while broadcast streams grew by 13.5% in 2014.
