The Broadcasters Foundation of America has announced the Stu Olds Memorial Golf Classic, with proceeds benefitting the Stu Olds Memorial Fund.
Working with friends of Stu Olds, the golf outing was established to celebrate his life while raising money for the Foundation’s mission, helping colleagues whose livelihoods are threatened by accident, disease or tragedy.
The Golf Classic is scheduled for June 12 of this year; the entry fee is $250 per player. It will be held at Olds’ former golf locale, the Knollwood Country Club.
The event is being chaired by Don Bouloukos, senior vice president and market manager for CBS Radio, New York, and Mark Gray, president of the Katz Radio Group.
“Stu was a leader in national media representation, a generous humanitarian, and an avid golfer,” Bouloukos stated in a press release.“This day is an opportunity to recognize his contributions, and to remind us all of his love of life, broadcasting, and golf.”
Olds, the former CEO of Katz Media Group, passed away in December of 2010 from Myelodysplastic syndrome, a form of leukemia.
