Frontier Silicon, which makes semiconductors, said it has now shipped 3 million DAB ICs since 2003. Its products are used in DAB radios from manufacturers including Sony, Philips, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, PURE Digital and Roberts Radio.
The company says it is increasing its share of the market. Its technology is used in modules for DAB portable radios; the company says the ICs allow long life with alkaline batteries and supports features like electronic program guide and pause, rewind and recording of live radio broadcasts.
