Portland, Ore., is not necessarily the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of country music. It’s not the last either.
KKCW(FM), one of iHeartMedia’s properties in Portland, is the location of something called “Tailgate Country.” IHeartMedia describes “Tailgate Country” as featuring the “biggest country music artists like Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.”
Interestingly, it adds, “The new station will proudly offer the Portland listeners 100% commercial-free music, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Brad Hardin said, “It’s the perfect station for crankin’ up while sitting on your tailgate and watching the Ducks pull out another win. No one in Portland is playing more country music than the New Tailgate Country.”
