Tarr Moves to Radio Milwaukee

He becomes director of radio operations and engineering for nonprofit

Christopher Tarr, formerly director of engineering for Entercom’s Milwaukee and Madison, Wis., stations, is moving a few blocks to become director of radio operations and engineering for 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.

According to Tarr, Radio Milwaukee is the nonprofit organization that operates the Milwaukee School District’s radio station, WYMS(FM).

Tarr said, “Anyone who has spent time with me knows that I not only tirelessly promote radio’s role in the community, but also how important broadcast engineers are to the future of the industry.” He told RW that the position “allows me to use my skills to help the award-winning staff at Radio Milwaukee to find new and innovative ways to use radio and other cutting-edge technologies to connect and engage with a diverse and highly connected community.”

He is from the area, adding, “It really is fantastic— having been born and raised in the Milwaukee area, I now get to work with an organization that celebrates and promotes the things that make Milwaukee great.” He also plans to do part-time engineering work.
