Ken Johnson, spokesman and deputy staff director for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and for its chairman, Rep. Billy Tauzin, R-La., announced his resignation effective Feb. 16.
That’s the same day Tauzin is stepping down from the committee chairmanship.
“The last three years have been the most rewarding and exhilarating of my life,” the former journalist Johnson stated in his announcement.
Tauzin said he would not run for re-election when his 12th term expires at the end of this year.
