Jacobs Media has opened registration for Techsurvey 2018. Radio stations have until Jan. 19 to sign up, and the survey will launch mid-January.
According to the announcement, the series kicked off in 2005, and Techsurvey 2018 will feature trends so broadcasters can track the changes in audience usage and habits.
Specifically, the questions will address generational media choices/behaviors; podcast listening/creation; social media; Internet radio/streaming/apps; listener interaction/engagement; on-demand entertainment/information subscriptions; Connected/ autonomous cars and their impact on media consumption; mobile; smartwatches; smart speakers; cord-cutting; and music discovery.
Stations can either participate for free or pay what Jacobs Media describes as a “small fee based on market size.” Stations that go the free route can sit in on the results webinar and will also receive national data. Those who pay will additionally receive “an in-depth look at their unique audience, their format’s audience, including their station’s ‘Media Usage Pyramid’ and ‘Brand Platform Pyramid.’”
Survey results will be released May 3 at the Worldwide Radio Summit in Los Angeles.
In 2017, 321 North American radio stations, representing 14 formats, contributed more than 50,000 respondents.
