Telos Adds aptX to Z/IP One

It’s an option, available in Q3

Codec manufacturer Telos Systems has added the aptX algorithm as an option for the Z/IP One IP codec.

The aptX algorithm is available under license from CSR, the company that acquired the aptX software family from developer APT. APT is now part of WorldCast Systems.

Telos Systems Vice President Kirk Harnack said: “Z/IP ONE comes standard with a comprehensive suite of genuine Fraunhofer MPEG AAC algorithms. Now, we’ve partnered with the UK’s CSR to offer genuine aptX coding to those broadcasters whose applications demand it.”

It is available as a $595 and it can be downloaded and field-installed for current Z/IP One owners. Availability is Q3.
