Telos Systems said that on Howard Stern’s first day at Sirius, there were 291,000 call attempts placed to his show’s number. The supplier said its Telos Series 2101 Multi-Studio Talkshow System was used.
Mike Schweizer of Improbable Missions Force was present during the show to offer phone system support and described the traffic as “crushing.” He told Telos that Qwest logged 130,000 call attempts in the first hour.
