Swedish network operator Teracom has selected
Flexiva transmitters for a network-wide FM upgrade.
The initial rollout phase is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2015, with installations scheduled for 12 of its 30-plus FM stations. The remaining installations will conclude in 2016.
GatesAir explains that it is streamlining the delivery and installation process through integrated and pretested transmitter systems, simplifying transport across Sweden and accelerating the pace at which Teracom engineers can install and deploy the transmitters.
The PowerSmart 3D architecture of Flexiva transmitters also minimizes ongoing maintenance, featuring a broadband design that enables hot-swappable modules and power supplies while reducing spare parts, says the firm. Lighter module and power supply weights additionally contribute to a reduction in labor costs, requiring only a single engineer to conduct service requirements, it concluded.
“The proven innovation of Flexiva transmitters will introduce increased efficiency and reliability in the Teracom FM network for many years to come,” said Per G Borgå, product manager radio, Teracom. “We expect the operational benefits of deploying GatesAir across our FM network will deliver high-quality radio broadcasts to listeners nationwide, thereby strengthening our customers in their operative goals.”
