Wallace & Associates said it has completed its purchase of the assets of the Advanced Television Technology Center in Alexandria, Va. The ATTC formerly was the Advanced Television Test Center. Despite the name, the center also has performed lab testing of digital radio, including the Ibiquity IBOC system.
The company said it plans to build a digital broadcast laboratory facility to provide services to the broadcast and consumer electronics industries similar to those provided by the ATTC and the Digital Television Station Project. It is expected to be located in the greater Washington, D.C., area. The consulting firm also will relocate its offices and testing facilities from Indianapolis.
“The facility will provide testing of digital television and digital radio technologies as well as providing for the continuing research and development work on digital technologies for broadcast applications,” it said in a statement.
“We plan to continue to offer services for digital radio lab testing and other services for the new HD Radio system,” Dennis Wallace told RW Online.
