It’s like they just walked away.
Back in September we reported that broadcast equipment manufacturer TFT had closed its doors, but received little information after that, and no replies to our requests for comment from the parent company. Now it seems that the case is officially closed. TFT’s equipment and office supplies are set to be sold at auction tomorrow, Jan. 21, by U.S. Auctions.
Radio-related products that will be sold include modulation monitors, EAS equipment and RF equipment. Based on the photos, there is also a lot of test gear, manufacturing gear, components and tools. To see more of what will be up for auction, you can visit www.usauctionco.com to see pictures.
The auction pictures offer a virtual tour of the TFT plant as it has been left. For those of us who have worked in or around equipment manufacturing, the pictures (listed as “Abandoned Property”) are sad.
The event will be a live auction at TFT’s offices at 1953 Concourse Dr., San Jose, Calif., at 11 a.m. PST. If you are interested in participating but unable to attend in person, you can contact Carolee Camacho of U.S. Auctions at 408-497-0339.
