Aspiring VO professionals and industry figures will converge on the Directors Guild of America on Sunset Blvd. for a That’s Voiceover career expo and voice-over performance workshops on August 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tamara Tunie of “Law & Order: SUV” will co-host along with That’s Voiceover regular, Joan Baker.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from VO professional and actor Keith David and voice coach/artist Patrick Fraley. David is a prolific actor, 70+ movies, and a well-known commercial voice, documentary narrator, cartoon and computer game voice actor. See his page at IMDB for the lengthy credits. Fraley will emcee a look at David’s career highlights. They’ll discuss the craft.
David will also receive the Voice Arts Award, presented by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences, during That’s Voiceover.
Professionals can also audition at the event. “Speed Dating With Your Demo” will let 20 ticket-holders work with VO legend Bill Ratner in private eight-minute audition, demo or feedback sessions.
Those interested in narrating audiobooks will be interested in auditioning through the Audiobook Creation Exchange, which is looking for one male and one female voice.
