Arbitron said more than a million people tuned to CBS New York AM station WFAN on Super Bowl Sunday.

Arbitron said more than a million people tuned to CBS New York AM station WFAN on Super Bowl Sunday.

It used results from the Portable People Meter and found that during the game, the station’s audience share was 18.7 for persons 12+, “well over three times the station’s overall Sunday average quarter-hour share for the preceding survey period.”

For Men 25–54 during game time, the sports station’s share rose to 29.1, four times greater than the preceding period.

“WFAN’s shares for persons 12+ and Men 25–54 rose dramatically immediately following the conclusion of the game. Persons 12+ held a 25 share between 10:00-11:00PM, ET and Men 25-54 grew to nearly 40 percent of the audience.”

CBS Radio President/CEO Dan Mason said being able to confirm such data so quickly after the event “is a boon for our business.”
