The Playboy Lounge Comes to Your Radio

The Playboy Lounge Comes to Your Radio

Looks like consolidation isn’t the only threat to the jobs of air talent these days.
Playboy Magazine’s “Playmates of the Month” are going to be DJs on the
“Playboy Lounge,” the newest radio channel to air on Radio Free Virgin. The “Playboy Lounge” is a joint project of Playboy.com and Radio Free Virgin.
The “Playboy Lounge” will broadcast a blend of electronica, hip-hop and rock with a little jazz and world music to Radio Free Virgin’s estimated 500,000 listeners.
“I suppose it was inevitable that Virgin and Playboy would get together,” said Richard Branson, chairman and founder of the Virgin Group. “This represents the beginning of a very fruitful relationship between us.”
“The Playboy Lounge is another exciting example of our ongoing commitment to bring the world of Playboy online, continuing to enhance our position as the most popular lifestyle and entertainment destination site for men on the web,” said Christie Hefner, chairman of Playboy.com
Radio Free Virgin provides streaming audio and offers listeners the opportunity to experience CD-quality sound online while working or surfing the Internet. The Radio Free Virgin player can be downloaded, according to the company, for no charge from http://www.radiofreevirgin.com
