A familiar refrain for sports fans disappointed by their team’s performance is, “There’s always next year.”
Yahoo! Sports Radio is of a similar mind, though perhaps not so disappointed. Before this year’s Stanley Cup was claimed, the sports talk specialist had already announced plans for two hockey-related programs for the next NHL season.
The weekly programs are courtesy of Hockey Active, a sports programming, marketing and promotion agency that is intently active in the hockey world. It has self-syndicated its Hockey This Week radio network to radio stations in many cities with NHL teams.
For Yahoo! Sports Radio, “That Hockey Show,” airing on Tuesdays, starting Sept. 1, will be hosted by Hockey Active owner and hockey fanatic, Paul Cuthbertson. On Saturdays, starting at noon, will be “Hockey This Weekend,” hosted by WFAN producer and host Mark Carver.
Both programs are two hours. A release describes them, “Both programs will focus on NHL teams, players, games, management and weekly story lines with commentary covering North American NHL and AHL teams and regions.”
